Guanglie Zhang is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and a senior member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). He was a key member of the Shenzhen Overseas High Level Talent (Peacock Plan) Project from 2015 to 2020. Dr. Zhang’s research has been continually funded by basic and applied research agencies in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Committee, and the Nanshan District of Shenzhen Key Technologies Development Fund. Since 2012, He served as principal investigator of more than 10 projects funded (to a total of more than HK$13 million) by these agencies since 2012. Dr. Zhang had participated in the validation of the National Robotics Standards as a technical committee member of the National Robotics Standardization General Working Group of China. As a senior member of the IEEE, he organized several international IEEE conferences, and served as the General Chair of the 1st IEEE International Conference on Micro/Nano Sensors for AI, Healthcare, and Robotics (IEEE-NSENS 2018), which was held in 2018 in Shenzhen.
